Oregon Hill family facing foreclosure and eviction. Please sign. →

active-rva:

Rain Burroughs and her daughter Summer are facing eviction from their home in the Oregon Hill neighborhood of Richmond. Rain works full-time at a grocery store in the city, and is one of the most dedicated anti-war activists I know, and Summer attends a local middle school and was recently diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis. A combination of circumstances forced Rain to file for bankruptcy several years ago, but for some reason, the ruling hasn’t protected them from possibly losing their house. She’s paying all she can, but the VDAA doesn’t seem to want to play ball or renegotiate.

Please sign this petition to the Virginia Housing Development Authority and urge them to stop taking steps towards foreclosure. It can’t hurt and it might help. Share this around as you can.

Expect more info as the case progresses and as more actions are planned. We can’t let this happen to them.
